Making Space for the New Year: Inspirational Decorating

The start of a new year is the perfect time to set intentions, identify your goals, and create a vision for the future. An effective way to foster inspiration is through your immediate environment: your home! This is why we love simple additions like vision boards to enhance your space- they're a visual representation of your dreams and aspirations, and serve as a daily reminder of what you want to manifest in your life.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create vision board that will not only beautify your abode, but also inspire and motivate you throughout the year.

Reflect and set intentions: Before diving into the creative process, take some time to reflect on your goals and aspirations for the upcoming year. Consider different areas of your life such as career, relationships, health, personal growth, and hobbies. What do you want to achieve or manifest in each area? Take note of these intentions as they will guide your vision board creation process.

Designate a Space: Find a prominent place in your home to display it. Choose a spot where you'll see it every day, such as your bedroom, office, or bathroom. Make sure it's easily visible and accessible, but not easily lost in clutter. For example: you don't want your vision board hidden away in your family "junk closet."

Gather Your Materials: Start by gathering a poster board, corkboard, or canvas as the base for your vision board. We love this magnetic board for its versatility and size. Next, collect your favorite magazines, newspapers, or printed images (we recommend Pinterest as a resource) that resonate with your goals and aspirations. It could be pictures of travel destinations, dream homes, inspiring quotes, or images of people who embody the qualities you aspire to cultivate. Additionally, gather scissors, glue, markers, and any other decorative materials like stickers, washi tape, or inspirational quotes.

Arrange and create: Now, it's time to arrange your selected images on the poster board or cork board. Cut out the images and words neatly, and start placing them on the board. You can create a collage-style vision board with overlapping images, or organize them in a more structured manner. Experiment with different layouts and compositions until you're satisfied with the overall arrangement. Play with colors, textures, and patterns to make it visually appealing. Secure your imaged with glue, tape or pins. Remember: You want this to last all year long!

Utilize and update: Take a moment each day to pause, reflect, and connect with the images and intentions on your vision board. Visualize yourself already living your desired outcomes and feel the emotions associated with achieving your goals .As the year progresses, your goals and aspirations may change or evolve - Don't be afraid to update your vision board accordingly. Add new images, remove ones that no longer resonate with you, or modify existing elements.

Remember, your vision board is a powerful tool if you allow it to be. Let your vision board be a constant reminder of what you want to achieve, and let it inspire you to take action and create the life you desire. Let your environment fuel you!

Here's to a year filled with clarity, growth, and the manifestation of your wildest dreams.

Happy crafting :)
